Your health answers, naturally

The Pill – is it right for you?

the pillThe pill is probably the most commonly used drug. Most women at some stage in their lives take the pill. Few realise the pill has potential side effects. These include depression, nausea, headaches, migraines and loss of libido.

What can you do about it?

Empower yourself with knowledge and find out more about the pill. A great starting point is reading ‘The Pill – Are you sure it’s for you’ by Australian authors Jane Bennett and Alexandra Pope.

The book covers:

  • side effects such as depression and mood disorders, loss of libido, headaches and migraine, weight gain, increased risk of breast cancer and brittle bones
  • alternatives to chemical contraception that don’t harm your health or fertility
  • natural ways to heal menstrual problems rather than masking these with the pill
  • ways the pill affects relationships (and the health of future children) and conversely how the menstrual cycle can be an ally to deepen your connection and sexual intimacy
  • radical ideas that having a menstrual cycle is really cool and can even be empowering, and, once experienced in this way is something you wouldn’t dream of eliminating with synthetic hormones.

Who should read the book:

  • fertile women who need reliable contraception that doesn’t compromise their health and sexuality
  • men who want to share the responsibility of contraception
  • women suffering from menstrual and /or skin problems who want to know how to heal them naturally
  • parents of teenage daughters who want to support her in her contraceptive needs as she moves toward a sexual relationship and want to fully understand the health implications (many side-effects are of particular concern for teenagers)
  • health practitioners who want comprehensive information on contraception and to learn more about women’s’ health
  • counsellors, psychotherapists and psychologists who want to understand the impact of the Pill on women’s’ psychological wellbeing
  • women and men who want to learn about period power, how to leverage it for success and how the female body is designed for ecstasy.

The book is easy to read, yet highly informative and sheds light on some of the confusion surrounding the pill. A must read for all women who have been or are on the pill, or considering its use.

I would just like to share my experiences with Missing Link. I found the service impeccable. Not only was Anita warm and friendly but her professional knowledge is amazing. Through a few relevant questions and the biofeedback machine, useful details about my health were discovered that otherwise may have gone untreated or unnoticed for years and years. Anita is thorough and the results were fast, accurate and explained in a way that was meaningful and personal. - Michael
Great to catch up again yesterday, E. and I are really enjoying our new "Wellness Journey" together, so thank you so much for all of your help and guidance so far. Pleased to say Coffee has not passed my lips since our first meeting, and also my weight has reduced considerably, which is all good news. — I.K. from Canberra
Anita’s input was extremely useful. Her state-of the-art machine detected some intolerance to certain food groups from a mere hair sample. Anita’s findings quickly resolved my on-an-off bloating sensation and lethargic state. Not bad for a Canberra-based Swissie.  — Cécile in Sydney
"I was getting bad headaches about every month for decades The headaches were severe enough to require a lot of Panadol, which I didn’t like taking. After Anita carried out a thorough assessment of my health, she advised a simple change in eating patterns and a herbal supplement. I have not had a headache for five months now and my overall health and energy levels have never been better." — John
I loved your approach: warm and professional, friendly and calm. I came away with lots of hope and feel better just for that. I really liked the simplicity of your approach and appreciated that you didn't overload me with supplements or things to do. Seemed a lovely balance of dealing with the most important in a simple, practical way. And I liked that you were very attuned to what would actually work for me. — Chantal
