Healthy Chocolate Balls

Ingredients

  • ½ cup raw sugar
  • 55g coconut oil
  • ¼ cup milk
  • ¼ cup cocoa
  • 40g raw nuts (or hemp seed, chia seeds, sunflower seeds)
  • 30-40g goji berries (or any other dried fruit)
  • 150 – 160g rolled oats
  • A few drops of vanilla essence

 Instructions

  1. Mix sugar, coconut oil, milk and cocoa in a saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat, stirring frequently. Lower the heat to a minimum and leave it to boil for three minutes.
  2. Chop nuts and dried fruit (you may want to use food processor for combined nuts and fruit).
  3. Combine the chocolate mixture with the other ingredients and mix well. Form small balls with the help of a teaspoon and place them on a tray with baking paper and refrigerate.
  4. If you are pushed for time, press the mixture into a small tray, refrigerate for a few hours and then slice.

 

Health tip: Hemp foods such as hemp seeds contain no drug or THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) content and are very high in omega 3 and omega 6 essential fatty acids (EFAs). These essential fatty acids have been shown to link with skin conditions of eczema, psoriasis and much more.
