All Natural Bliss Balls

Bliss BallsThese delicious bliss balls tick all the right boxes:

  • they taste sensational; young and old love them just as much;
  • they are made from healthy and natural ingredients;
  • they are quick and easy to make.


  • 1 cup dried, pitted dates
  • 1 cup almond meal
  • 1 tbsp. cacao
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp. coconut oil (melted)
  • 2 tbsp. desiccated coconut


  1. Bring dried dates, covered in water, to boil. Turn off heat and let it simmer/cool down for about 10 minutes. Drain water (quite a nice drink in itself!).
  2. Using a food processor, blend drained dates until paste-like.
  3. Add almond meal, cacao, vanilla and melted coconut oil until well combined.
  4. Roll heaped teaspoon size amounts into balls, roll in coconut and place on tray. Refrigerate.
  5. Rolling the sticky mixture into balls can be a bit messy and time consuming. A quicker way is to place the dough on a tray, between two pieces of baking paper, roll it out, sprinkle some coconut on top. Refrigerate for a few hours and then cut it into slices. Not Bliss Balls anymore but just as delicious!

Health tip: Not only are these Bliss Balls perfect for that afternoon energy slump, when you crave something sweet. Almonds and cacao provide a great source of magnesium, particularly important for muscle relaxation and avoiding leg cramps.
